Whether a candidate has been successful or unsuccessful, it is important to provide support and feedback to them. In our focus groups, 16-24 year olds told us that they prefer a phone call if they have been successful and an email with feedback (or the opportunity to access feedback) if they have been unsuccessful.
Many organisations have their own processes for informing candidates about the outcome of their interview. To help you make the most of this communication, we have created template emails for successful and unsuccessful candidates. The unsuccessful candidate email includes signposts to further help and advice about recruitment, and information about careers in health and social care.
